Dr. Girish N. Nadkarni is the Fishberg Professor of Medicine at Mount Sinai Health Systems. He is also the Chief of the Division of Data Driven and Digital Medicine (D3M), the co-director of the of the Mount Sinai Clinical Intelligence Center (MSCIC) and the clinical director of the Hasso Plattner Institute for Digital Health at Mount Sinai. He received training in Mathematics before completing his medical degree at one of the top-ranked medical colleges in India. He then received a Master’s in Public Health at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health in Baltimore, MD, and then was a Research Associate at the Johns Hopkins Medical Institute. Dr. Nadkarni completed his residency in Internal Medicine and a clinical fellowship in Nephrology at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. He then completed a research fellowship in Personalized Medicine at the Charles Bronfman Institute of Personalized Medicine where he was mentored by Dr. Erwin Böttinger. Dr. Nadkarni has authored over 250 peer-reviewed scientific publications including ones in the New England Journal of Medicine and Journal of American Medical Association. He has received many awards including the best outgoing clinician award, Dr. Harold and Golden Lamport research award and the Deal of the Year award at Sinai Innovations. He is the principal or co-investigator for several NIH funded grants. Dr. Nadkarni is also the scientific co-founder of several investor-backed companies.
